Setting writing intentions are lovely, but sometimes life throws a few curve balls and intentions get tossed to the side. So, how do you come back to your writing or creative space once life crazy takes over? That's what I'm trying to find out now.
I haven't written a blog post in over six months! Why? Because life threw me a few curveballs. I'm even just responding to some emails from April and it is now October. Life threw some curveballs. Blogging and emails were not to the only things that get pushed to the side during this crazy time. My writing life took a back seat too. I former version of myself might be disappointed about this. I might have berated myself for not sticky to my writing routine or meeting the goals/intentions I had set for myself. However, that rarely got me anywhere other than in a funk. So, instead, I'm trying to work on re-building my relationship with my writing practice again. It is going slowly. I am aware that I shouldn't push myself too hard too fast. Like starting exercise after an injury, it is good to ease back in. Here are a few approaches I am using to re-connect with my writing practice.
I hope that the steps I am taking to re-connect to my writing practice are useful to you if you ever find yourself in a similar situation as I am.
Of course, you can always turn to a printable or writing prompt to help you ease back into the ideas of writing. You've come to the right place for those! Join Cozy Writer's Room for writing inspired printables every month!
